FAQ
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Worcestershire, UK near the edge of the Cotswolds. I have photographed weddings as close as the local church in my village and as far away as Portsmouth on the south coast. I am happy to travel to meet your needs.
If accommodation is considered to be required in cases of longer travel distances and particularly early starts then this is something that can be discussed during the pre-wedding consultation stage.
Which venues have you photographed before?
I have covered a number of venues including:
Hyde Barn
Puckrup Hall
Dumbleton Hall
Birtsmorton Court
Upcote Barn
Deer Park Hall
HMS Warrior
How do we secure a wedding booking?
Bookings are secured with a non-refundable retainer of 20% of the package price and a signing of a wedding photography contract.
How do you approach a wedding with your clients?
As part of your initial enquiry I usually like to do a pre-wedding consultation to answer any questions and to see if we are a good fit. Following the securing of a booking I like to try and do a venue visit with prospective couples to help walk through the day and plan shots beforehand in order to reduce any stress and help things move smoothly on the big day.
How do you work on the wedding day?
My main aim on the day is to capture the images that we will have discussed during any pre-wedding consultations and in a manner that is not disruptive to your day. If formal family groups and couple portraits have been requested then I try to keep this part of the proceedings the only time I step in and take an active role in organising the couple and guests. Everything else, I try to capture in a natural manner.
Do you offer aerial imagery?
Ian Hartwell Images has previously held a PfCO qualification from the CAA for a number of years and now holds an A2 Certificate of Competency qualification for the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles in the UK. It should be noted however that this service is very much venue and weather dependent. Please enquire for more details.
When will we receive our images?
For a full day coverage wedding I aim to deliver 300+ fully edited images. These will be a combination of colour and black and white images. Your images are delivered via a password protected online gallery where clients have the ability to create favourites lists and mark photos as private. This is a great feature if you wish to gift images to guests ahead of them being able to download them for themselves. Clients can also request an optional Guest password which has more limited features such as simply viewing and downloading images. You may also request a mobile app of your gallery so that you can show friends, family and colleagues highlights of your big day all the more easily.

FAQ
Do you have a studio?
Ian Hartwell Images does not currently have a dedicated studio space. Instead I can offer a mobile studio setup with backdrops and portable lighting solutions. This can be particularly useful if you have younger family members you would like photographed who may otherwise find a trip to a dedicated studio a little more daunting, or if you have family pets that you would like to include in your shoot.
Do you do location shoots?
Absolutely! I like to create images that are as meaningful to you as possible, especially if the surroundings are a part of that reason. I have photographed couples in various locations which have included being in front of their favourite street art in the city near to where they have made their new home together, to families in autumnal parks where they like to take walks together. In a crowded city or on a quiet hill in the countryside; if it is important to you, it is important to me.
Do you have a drone?
Ian Hartwell Images is currently a fully insured and registered PfCO holder in the UK and so is permitted to use drones to capture more unique portraits should you require. It should be noted however that this service is very much location and weather dependent. Please enquire for more details.
How will I receive my images?
Images are delivered via an online gallery where you can download them all for your safekeeping and share them with friends and family if so desired.
Do you offer prints?
Ian Hartwell Images can offer prints created in house in the following sizes; 6x4, 7x5, 10x8, 10x8 mounted, A4 and A3. More bespoke wall art and albums are available through trusted sources and I am happy to discuss the ordering process with you to ensure you receive the best products for your needs.
What is your 4 Seasons package?
New for 2020, this package can be tailored to be as grand or as minimalist as you like.
So much can happen in a year, why not capture it with the changing of the seasons. From Spring blossoms and radiant Summer days to golden Autumnal scenes and cosy Winter warmers. Mark new loves, new arrivals and new homes with a variety of shoots.
Tie your experience off with a grand canvas collage or commemorative album. Or simply choose to keep it digital and level up that Instagram feed. An adventurous package, your way.
